This is important because parents are responsible for teaching their children how to do right and being a positive example for them to follow into adulthood. The fifth commandment instructs us to honor thy father and mother. The Sabbath is a day of rest for our body, mind and spirit so that we can spend time connecting with God and others from our faith community. The fourth commandment tells us to observe the Sabbath day and keep it holy. We should always respect and use God’s name with love and respect. The third commandment reminds us, “Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain”. This simply means to never create false idols or worship anything but God. The second commandment commands us, “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven images”. This means that we should always remember that God comes first, above all else.
